Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to make them work better, and to give the site owner information about how the site is used.

Similar technologies do comparable things. Pixels are small pieces of code that report when a page is loaded or an action is taken. Local storage keeps information in your browser. Software development kits, or SDKs, are components built into mobile apps that perform similar functions. We refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.

Cookies may be set by us, called first-party cookies, or by companies whose services we use, called third-party cookies. Some last only for your visit, and some stay on your device for a set period.

2. Why we use cookies

We use cookies to:

• keep the Services secure and working, including keeping you signed in;
• remember your preferences and settings;
• understand how the Services are used so we can improve them;
• support subscription and payment processing; and
• measure how well our advertising and social media campaigns work.

3. The cookies we use

3.1 Strictly necessary. These are required for the Services to function and cannot be switched off. They enable secure sign-in, maintain your session, protect against fraud and abuse, and route traffic to our servers. Without them, parts of the Services will not work. These are set by us and by our hosting provider, Vercel.

3.2 Functional. These remember choices you make, such as language and display preferences, so you do not have to set them again.

3.3 Analytics. These help us understand which pages and features are used, where people run into problems, and how the Services perform. We use:

• Google Analytics 4 on our website
• Mixpanel in our applications, to measure product usage

3.4 Advertising and social media. These measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and let advertising platforms report on and target our ads. We use:

These technologies run on our marketing website. We do not place advertising or social media pixels on pages where you are signed in, and we never pass your documents, immigration details, or case information to an advertising platform.

3.5 Payments. Our payment and subscription providers, Stripe and RevenueCat, set cookies needed to process transactions and prevent fraud. Purchases made inside our mobile apps are handled by the Apple App Store and Google Play under their own policies.

4. Third parties that set cookies through our Services

The following companies may set cookies when you use the Services: Google, Meta Platforms, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Stripe, RevenueCat, Mixpanel, and Vercel. Each uses cookies according to its own privacy and cookie policies, which we do not control. We encourage you to review them.

5. Your choices and how to control cookies

5.1 Consent controls. We are implementing a cookie consent tool that will let you accept or refuse non-essential cookies before they are set, and change your mind later. Until it is live, you can control non-essential cookies using the methods in 5.2 and 5.3 below. When the tool is available, we will update this policy and the effective date above.

5.2 Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings, and most offer a setting to reject third-party cookies specifically. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the Services from working. Browser settings are per-browser and per-device, so you will need to set them on each one you use.

5.3 Device and platform controls.

• On iOS and Android, you can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device privacy settings.
• Each advertising platform above offers ad and data settings in your account with that platform, where you can limit how your activity is used.
• Industry opt-out tools operated by the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada and the Network Advertising Initiative let you opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.

5.4 In-app. Our applications do not use advertising SDKs. You can control notification permissions and other device permissions in your device settings.

6. Do Not Track

Browsers vary in how they send Do Not Track signals and there is no common standard for responding to them. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. We do honour the controls described in Section 5.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use, or for legal or operational reasons. When we do, we will post the updated policy and change the effective date above.
