Refund Policy
Effective date: August 1, 2026 · Last updated: July 25, 2026
This Refund Policy explains how refunds work for paid features offered by Mirantly Technologies Inc. ("Mirantly," "we," "us," or "our"). Read it alongside our Terms of Service. The most important thing to know first: most Mirantly subscriptions are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and those stores handle the refunds, not us. Section 2 explains what that means and how to request one.
1. What this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- consumer subscription plans, currently Plus at $49.99 per month and Pro at $89.99 per month;
- professional accounts for immigration consultants at $99 per month;
- one-time purchases, where offered; and
- payments made to professionals through marketplace features, where those features are available to you.
Our free plan costs nothing, so nothing in this policy applies to it. We do not currently offer a free trial.
Different payment types are refunded under different rules, because they are processed by different companies. The sections below explain each case.
2. Purchases made in our mobile apps
Subscriptions bought inside the Mirantly iOS or Android app are processed as in-app purchases by Apple or Google. This is how most of our subscriptions are sold.
What that means:
- Apple or Google, not Mirantly, charges your payment method and holds the funds.
- We cannot issue a refund for these purchases. We do not have the technical ability to do so, and asking us will not be faster.
- Refunds are granted at the store's discretion under its own published policy.
How to request a refund:
Apple App Store. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find the Mirantly purchase, and choose the refund option. You can also request one from your purchase history in Settings on your device.
Google Play. Open the Google Play Store, go to your order history, find the Mirantly purchase, and choose the refund option, or use the Google Play help centre.
How to cancel: Cancelling and refunding are different things. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund a charge already made.
Apple: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions.
Google: Google Play Store, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date, or you will be charged for the next period. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
We will still help. If the store declines your request and you believe there was a genuine error on our side, such as a feature that never worked or a duplicate charge, write to support@mirantly.com with your account email, the date and amount of the charge, and what happened. We will investigate, and where the fault is ours we will advocate on your behalf with the store or find another way to make it right.
3. Subscriptions generally
Whether you bought through an app store or elsewhere:
- You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not retroactively refund a period that has already started.
- When you cancel, you keep access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- We do not provide partial refunds for unused days within a billing period, except where required by law or expressly stated in this policy.
- If we permanently discontinue a paid service, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.
4. Purchases not made through an app store
Payments processed by us directly through Stripe, including professional accounts, are refunded by us rather than by a store.
Billing errors. If you were charged in error, for example a duplicate charge or a charge after a confirmed cancellation, contact us and we will investigate and correct any verified mistake.
Service failure. If you paid for a feature that failed to work because of a technical fault on our side, contact us and we will either restore access or refund that purchase.
One-time purchases. Because these are digital products delivered immediately, they are generally non-refundable once accessed, subject to the two points above and to your statutory rights.
5. Marketplace payments and escrow
This section applies where marketplace features are available to you. They are not available to all users yet. When they become available, the following rules will apply to payments made to professionals through Mirantly.
When you hire a professional through the marketplace, your payment is held in escrow and released to the professional in milestones as agreed work is delivered and approved. Mirantly facilitates these payments but does not perform the professional services itself.
Because the funds are intended for an independent professional, refunds follow the milestone rules below rather than the subscription rules above. You are responsible for reviewing delivered work before approving a milestone, because approval releases payment. Raise concerns before approving, not after.
| Situation | What happens to your funds |
|---|---|
| Milestone not yet released | Funds for milestones you have not approved remain held in escrow and can be refunded if the engagement ends before that work is delivered. |
| Milestone already approved and released | Once you approve a milestone and funds are released to the professional, that portion is considered earned and is generally non-refundable through Mirantly. |
| Work not delivered as agreed | You may open a dispute before approving the milestone, and held funds will be handled according to the dispute outcome. |
| Engagement cancelled early | Funds still in escrow for undelivered milestones are returned to you. Released milestones are not reversed. |
6. Marketplace disputes
Where marketplace features are available and something goes wrong in an engagement, you can raise a dispute through the Services before the relevant milestone is released.
- When you open a dispute, the funds tied to that milestone stay held in escrow until it is resolved.
- We may ask you and the professional for information about what was agreed and what was delivered.
- We aim to resolve disputes fairly, based on the agreed scope of work, the evidence provided, and the terms each party accepted.
- Mirantly is not a court and does not make legal rulings. Our role is to administer the escrow according to the agreed milestones and these terms.
- Nothing here limits your right to pursue a complaint with the professional's regulator, including the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, or to seek a legal remedy.
7. How to reach us about a charge
Write to support@mirantly.com with:
- the email address on your account;
- the date and amount of the charge;
- where you bought it, meaning the App Store, Google Play, or our website; and
- a short description of the problem.
We may need to verify that you own the account and the payment method before we act.
For marketplace engagements, open a dispute on the engagement itself before approving the milestone rather than emailing us, so the funds stay held.
8. Processing time and method
Where we issue a refund directly, it goes back to the original payment method. How long it takes to appear depends on your bank or payment provider and is outside our control.
We do not charge a fee to process a valid refund. Banks and payment providers may apply their own fees or currency conversion differences that we cannot waive.
Where an app store issues a refund, its own timelines apply.
9. Chargebacks
If you have a concern about a charge, contact us first. We can usually resolve billing problems faster and more completely than a chargeback through your bank.
Starting a chargeback before contacting us may result in temporary suspension of your account while we investigate, so we can confirm what was charged and why.
10. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy removes or limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law, including the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (British Columbia) and the Consumer Protection Act (Quebec). Where this policy conflicts with a right you have under that legislation, that right applies.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Services.
Refunds are assessed under the policy in effect at the time of the relevant charge.
